Ingredients

  • Aubergines and zucchini (the number depends on the number of guests)
  • Alcohol-free beer
  • Flour (wholemeal or normal)
  • Oil and salt

How to make eggplant and zucchini batter sticks

Peel and cut the aubergine and courgette as if they were French fries. We put in a large bowl, covered with beer. Drain them after approximately 15 minutes and pass them through flour.

A good way to make it evenly floured is to put the flour in a bag, put the drained aubergine and zucchini in, close the mouth of the bag and shake a little. It is perfect (this trick is also valid for pieces of fish or squid).

Fry quickly, so that the flour does not get wet and it remains very crispy, in plenty of hot oil. When you take them out, put them on some absorbent paper to remove excess fat. Season with salt to taste and serve very hot.
